These past few days, its been hectic I admit. 25 Million was not easy, we must be honest. Though people would say, "kayod kalabaw naman yan sila", I will never ever regret doing it. Kayod Kalabaw man, we enjoyed the pressure, everything seemed to be a fiesta. Maybe the efforts differ in every citizen of AldubNation. But as for some like me, it has been a roller coaster ride.
I've seen posts responding to the 25 Million tweets. Most of my friends who prefer tackling judiciary cases, gave out negative perceptions, read them saying, "people could make a difference if only they converted that million tweets to more important things", I contemplated upon these that night after the big "panliligaw" event. Noises inside my head are bothering me asking "Am I slowly turning into an incapable Filipino citizen when I started to be an Aldub fan?" I proudly boast around all my social media accounts about me finally being a first time fan when I started. This is all new to me, so I also have my bumpy share of the road. As I meditated over these matters, I came up with a question and an answer.
"When most of the people are happy, some who couldn't penetrate inside that happy circle, tend to question everything and create a negative connotation about it. Why do they gave out so much concern over a positive thing and try to look at it so negatively?"
When its not yet big, people gave little care. But when it became a huge hit, they spend time to post in their accounts just to contribute to the long line of discussion. It hurts me to see that these are individuals who look at an aldub fan as an inferior. That they see us as some people who aspires little and limited within the Aldub realm. Some of them mocked and perceives us as human beings who bear little minds. As I took it all in, I wanted to shout how wrong these accusations are. That these few hours we spent over Aldub does not occupy most of our lives. That some of our hours are also spent on crying over depressing nation problems. That some of our moments are about how sad this country is, with silly low salaries, with corrupt leaders, with inevitable anomalies, with hungry children and more. But once in a while, in a part of our day, instead of crying we learned to smile, we learned to giggle, we learned to be happy over the simplest thing, EB and its Kalyeserye. Now, how can you deny us this happiness and call it nonsense and useless? Do you want us to be a nation consist of a population who immerse themselves on sadness and stress all the time? I thought this is a country who is free to choose. Now let us be. In lieu of people saying that this is the limit to our aspiration, I say to you, you really do not know the lives behind these million tweets. Some of us are teachers who wishes to spread knowledge and good values, some of us are lawyers, who defend innocence and pursue justice, some of us are IT's who engage themselves in computer easy access and makes every piece of the virtual world a breeze for anyone. And some of us are more than what you imagine. A moment of our day, we gather in spirit and watch AlDub. To completely define us basing on a small percentage, is gravely wrong. Lahat po kami ay masaya dahil sa Aldub, hindi po ba ito pwede para sa inyo. Eh kung ang kaunting kasiyahan namin, ay ikinababahala ninyo, ay hindi na po namin yun papakialaman. All I know is, kakaiba ang saya na dinudulot ng AlDub sa amin. Kung di po ninyo maintindihan, eh sasainyo na iyon, at sa amin na po ito.
Grateful po ako sa Aldub, and I am not ashame to say it. Thank You Po AldubNation. Matibay pa rin po tayo.
